Jeremy's Uncle Jack wrote:
"Violet Patricia, but always wanting to be known as Vi, started her working life as an assistant at Helen Taylor, a Ladies shop in Stourbridge. Later, she worked at the Woolworth's shop in Stourbridge. She was also a member of the Stourbridge Follies. She was still at Woolworth's, when she married. This was on 8th April,1940, to Albert Frederick Humphries, the son of a Neighbour. He was in the army at the time."
