1861 census: (as 'Thomas Addison') living with wife, children, and lodgers at Jays Field House, Waldridge. Occupation is 'Labour Coal Mine'. Age is 49, and place of birth is Jays Field House.

1871 census: living with wife and sons at 1 Jays Houses, Waldridge. Age is 59, occupation is gardener domestic servant, and place of birth is Waldridge.

1876: He was present at his daughter Elizabeth Jane's marriage, where his profession was given as gardener.

1881 census: living with wife and children at 4 North Row, Waldridge. Age is 70, occupation is gardener 'n.d.', and place of birth is Waldridge.
