I have a copy of the birth certificate. The place of birth is given as the Nags Head, and the birth was registered five days later by the father.

1851 census: living with parents and siblings at the Nags Head, West Rainton. Age is 2 and place of birth is West Rainton.

1861 census: living at Nags Head Inn, Rainton Gate, as servant to older brother Micheal [sic], the inn keeper. Age is 12, and place of birth is the Nags Head Inn.

1869: On marriage certificate she is 20, a spinster, residence is West Cornforth.

1871 census: living at 9 Junction Row, Newbottle, with husband and children. Age is 22, and place of birth is Rainton Gate.

1881 census: living at New Winning, Ouston, with husband and children. Age is 34, and place of birth is Rainton.

1883: Name is given as 'Jane Patterson, formerly Curry' on daughter Isabella's birth certificate.

1891 census: living at 63 Pleasant Row (formerly Brick Row), Waldridge, with husband and children. Age is 45, and place of birth is Rainton Gate.

1901 census has a Jane Patterson, 52, living at 60 Pleasant Row, Edmondsley, with husband George R., and various children. For link with daughter Isabella see notes on husband George.

1917: I have an image of her death certificate (courtesy of Les Lake). Age is given as 68. Causes of death were broncho-pneumonia (12 days) and cardiac syncope. The death was registered on the 14th February by her son Ralph.
