1874: Profession in Annie Maria's birth certificate is 'Pointsman'.

1881 census: living at 46 Napier St, Gloucester, with wife and children. Age is 41, place of birth is 'Gloster, R[...]', and profession is 'Coal Merchant, Haulier'.

1891 census: living at 49 Napier St, Gloucester, with wife and children. Age is 52, place of birth is Ruardean, and profession is 'Haulier' (neither employer nor employed).

1896: Alive at time of daughter Annie Maria's marriage, where his profession is 'Haulier'.

1901 census: living at 34 Widden St, Gloucester, with a housekeeper (he is a widower). Age is 59, place of birth is East Dean, and profession is 'Goods Labourer (Mid[lands?] R[ailway?])'.

Donald: 'Francis Hart remembers childhood visits to a Bradley's in the Forest of Dean where horses and ponies were brought into the yard during the night: these received cosmetic changes before being sold on.'
