1838: I have a copy of her birth certificate. She was born at 14 Court [?] House, Hill Street. The birth was registered on 9 February by her mother.
The LDS have a record of the baptism of a Sarah Mayo (parents Joseph and Ann) in St Philip's, Birmingham on 16 April 1838. Her birthdate is also given, though whether that comes from the original record is unclear.
1841 census: living on Wharf Street, Birmingham, with (presumably) mother and siblings. Her age is given as 3, and she is marked as having been born in Warwickshire.
1861: a spinster 'of full age', living in Edgbaston at the time of her marriage.
1871 census: living with daughter and a lodger at 178 Great Russell Street. Age is 33, occupation is charwoman, and place of birth is Birmingham. Husband not present, but she is not described as a widow.
