Adam Holmes Coe
born 10 February 1909
  in Daisy Hill, Co. Durham
died 1 February 1978
  in Tanfield, Co. Durham

I have a copy of the birth certificate which gives the place of birth as 'Clark's Buildings, Daisy Hill, Witton Gilbert R.D.'. The birth was registered on March 1st 1909.

1911 census: living with parents and sister at Red Rows, Edmondsley. He is aged 2 and born in Daisy Hill.

According to Margaret Cozens he was sacked from the colliery (along with his father) because of being related to Alderman Thomas Holmes, who was working towards better rights for miners.

He was a Methodist Minister, and during WWII was chaplain at a POW camp in Lincolnshire.
